Growing Your Mystery Blooms

Here's some further information for growing your Mystery Blooms, and some ideal specifications for getting the best results.

We’ve carefully chosen all our seeds for 3 main things:

  • Easy to grow
  • Quick to bloom,
  • And small enough to grow in a pot.

Our in-season range will grow across the ‘Main Climates’ of Australia. If the seeds are intended for particularly severe climates, Check below for more details, or send us a message! If you need a certain flower seed we’ll be happy to see what we can do.

      Some general growing advice:

Seeds are cleverly designed to grow in the wild, so it won’t be too hard getting your seeds to grow in a cozy little pot or garden bed. To get the best results here are some general tips that will apply to most seed types- always follow the specific instructions on the information card, for planting info specific to that seed type.

      Position:

Young plants need sun and water to grow, so the best place to start seeds in a small pot on a sunny window sill. Our favourite pots or biodegradable ones, as these are waste free and avoid transplant shock because the pot can be planted into the ground. They’re available at most chain hardware stores.

Place a small dish under the pot to catch excess water, and keep the soil moist until the seeds germinate.

      Fertilising:

To speed up growth you can apply a half strength, all-purpose fertiliser on the plant, once it has at least two ‘True Leaves’ (the first set of leaves are not true leaves). If you’re concerned the plant isn’t ready, use quarter strength fertiliser.

Care: Seedlings are delicate, but plants will tolerate many extremes such as drought and summer storms. Water the soil, avoiding the leaves and flowers, to reduce the threat of disease.
